The Wine Collective
Established in 2019, The Wine Collective blazed the trail as Baltimore’s first urban winery and pintxos bar. Inspired by their traditional yet somewhat punk approach to winemaking, we collaborated to develop a brand identity that reflects the daring combination of old-world craft and new-world tech.
Essentially functioning as The Wine Collective’s marketing, design, and communications arm between 2019-2022, POESIS managed all aspects of The Wine Collective’s graphic needs (from bottle packaging and merchandise to ad graphics and website management).
Additionally, we directed its dozens of digital, social, and email marketing campaigns, leading its brand to national acclaim with features at Forbes, Wine & Spirits Magazine, Imbibe Magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, FOX News, MSN, CBS, and many others.

In an old warehouse in Baltimore, the ancient tradition of viticultural collaboration collides with the daring innovation of modern garagistes. The result is wine of the highest quality made slow and made together.
Vermú
The illustrated Vermú mark was designed to evoke the way this vermouth transports the imbiber to a whimsical place, with a nod to Baltimore’s spirit animal, the flamingo, and a mythical “Boozy Lady” as the central cast.
The flyings “V’s” fizz out of the Boozy Lady’s cup, reminiscent of flying birds in the sky or flamingo feet marks on the sand. Either way, this mark is meant to evoke both the earthy and the divine.
Infused with cinchona bark, Spanish oranges, chamomile, wormwood, gentian root, juniper berries, clove, and star anise, this lovely vermouth is tangy, warm, and spicy: not too sweet or too bitter.
POESIS worked with The Wine Collective to develop the packaging, messaging, product release (including Instagram reels), and screen print designs for this easy-drinking cocktail in a bottle.
Vermútino
First there was Vermú, then there was Vermútino..
Vermútino is a completely new type of spritzer. It is a ready-to-drink Spanish-style aperitivo spritz—light, bubbly, and hopelessly refreshing. The Orange Cinchona flavor combines The Wine Collective’s Vermú Rosé and sparkling water, offering a beautiful balance of bright citrus essence and tangy bitter of quinine. It’s the perfect drink for vermouth veterans and first-time explorers alike. All-natural and born in Baltimore City, Vermútino celebrates all the good things in life.
POESIS worked with The Wine Collective to develop the packaging, messaging, product release (including product photography and Instagram reels), and label designs for this lovely hard seltzer.
Balt Nat
Balt Nat is a midsummer night’s dream.
A natural, unfiltered, sparkling wine. A sort of double-fermented Pét-Nat, born in Baltimore City.
Fermented first in tank and then in the bottle with native yeasts and locally grown grapes, it is lightly fizzy, slightly funky, and deliciously wild.
POESIS worked with The Wine Collective to develop the packaging, messaging, product release (including product photography and Instagram reels), and label designs for this unique natural sparkling wine.
Brut Nature
This natural bubbly wine is nothing short of exceptional. Made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from California, every bottle sold contributed $5 in aid of wildfire relief in the west coast. The Wine Collective did so in the hope of sharing with East Coast wine lovers the truth about the deep bond that exists between the two coasts in agriculture and the environment. The beautiful artwork of two birds (a collaboration with artist James Matthew Coffman) and the sun perfectly symbolize this deep bond, and the balance needed from coast to coast to properly steward the earth.
POESIS worked with The Wine Collective to develop the packaging, label designs, messaging, product release, and photo shoots for this special sparkling wine.
